The Illinois Drill Team Association (IDTA) recognizes WMS student Brilea Warren with a certificate of Scholastic Achievement.
IDTA fosters youth in their talents and skills as performers , but also their success in the classroom.
Warren is being highlighted for her Outstanding Achievement in Pursuit of Academic Excellence.



National School Social Work Week is an opportunity for schools, communities, and partners to acknowledge and recognize the impactful work social workers do to support students, families, and their communities.
Whether it’s leading group sessions, one-on-one counseling, or developing strategies for overall student well-being, our social workers including Ashley Huey are always there with a compassionate heart and expert advice.

High School Art Club is sharing photos of their recent lesson at Washington Middle School focusing on endangered and extinct animals. During the visit, WMS students were able to make colorful collages out of construction paper.
Every year, Art Club provides lessons to the middle school and both elementary schools in preparation for the district-wide art show.
This year's theme for the art show is "Welcome to the Jungle" on April 11th from 4 to 6 p.m.

What a night to remember! On Friday, February 28, Washington Middle School students danced the night away at our Sweetheart Dance!
From dazzling outfits to impressive dance moves, the energy in the room was absolutely electric! 🎶
A huge THANK YOU to our amazing students, staff, and volunteers who helped make the night so special. The decorations were beautiful, the music was fantastic, and the memories made will last a lifetime. 💖





It might be Spring Break, but that doesn't mean Volleyball comes to a stop. Our team has an away game tonight against the Sesser-Valier Red Devils starting at 6 p.m.

WOW! We're up to our 4th Volleyball game of the week. We have a home match tonight against Unity Point starting at 5 p.m.
It's a special game since its 8th grade night. A time to recognize our 8th grade players for their hard work and dedication to the team.
It's also a meaningful evening for parents as they watch their 8th grade child's time at WMS starting to come to an end as they prepare for high school.


All schools have early dismissal today, Friday March 7th, with our elementary schools and middle school letting out at 1:50 p.m. High School students will be dismissed at 2 p.m.
Spring Break is March 10th -14th. 😎😎
We'll return on St. Patrick's Day with a full day of classes, so be sure to wear your green! 🍀


Our Boys Basketball team is competing in Eldorado's 6th Grade tournament, which kicks off this evening and runs through March 9th.
The schedule has our first game up against Gallatin County with tip-off tonight at 7 p.m.


We have a home Volleyball game tonight against the Carterville Lions. It's NEON night, so break out those bring colors and make the home stands COLORFUL!
Originally, 8th grade night was set to take place this evening, but it's now rescheduled to tomorrow, March 7th.


A friendly reminder that tomorrow, March 7th, all schools have early dismissal.
Elementary and Middle School students will be let out at 1:50 p.m. and High School students will be dismissed at 2 p.m.


It's the second Volleyball game of the week and this match is also away, but this time, it's against the Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes. The action starts at 5:30 tonight!


Our 4th and 5th Girls Basketball teams have a home game tonight. Our Lady Indians are set to play the West Frankfort Red Birds. Let go, ladies!!


It's a busy day for athletics including Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball AND Volleyball.
Our 5th and 6th Grade Boys Basketball team will compete against the Du Quoin Indians. This is an away game with tip-off at 4:30 p.m.
